My goal in life is to be a Licensed Professional Counselor.  I'm in school for that now so I'm still not qualified to dispense professional advice, but I hope to eventually make a positive difference in the lives of other people.  I give a great deal of thought to the condition of the human race as well as the issues humans face both as a species and as individuals.  Every culture has a story, every person has a story.    We all are the products of our heredity, environments, and upbringing; these are the things that shape who we are.  Some of these things are pretty and positive while other things generate lifelong struggles.  I believe everyone has the power to make positive changes in their life.  I believe that the key ultimately is self awareness.  Without self awareness, we cannot acknowledge our issues and work toward solutions and healing.  These types of journeys aren't easy and take time to accomplish.  I know I still work toward healing myself on a few things that happened in my own past.  When we are able to acknowledge our internal struggles and make the effort to heal ourselves, we are better able to understand and tolerate others who are maybe unaware or aren't coping as well with their own issues.

I wish for everyone the internal peace we all deserve.  No one gets through life without some form of emotional damage, but when we acknowledge that damage we can work toward peace within and get us out of the rut we may be experiencing in the rest of our lives.  I'd especially like to put out there that there is nothing embarrassing and shameful about getting help if we feel we need it.  Sometimes it takes an objective source to help us see deeper into ourselves and our issues.  The greatest tragedy is going through life unhealed.
